The Lorsch Codex shows that Welgesheim had its own church as early as 1290, which was subordinate to the parish of Zotzenheim in the Partenheim deanery. However, there was a pastor of his own in Welgesheim. 1] The church, which was consecrated to All Saints, was elevated to parish church at that time.
