The Lorsch Codex shows that Welgesheim had its own church as early as 1290, which was subordinate to the parish of Zotzenheim in the Partenheim deanery. However, there was a pastor of his own in Welgesheim. 1] The church, which was consecrated to All Saints, was elevated to parish church at that time. The patronage of the church was initially held by the Lords of Falkenstein and the Rupertsberg Benedictine Monastery in the 13th century.
