The Catholic church was only built at the end of the 19th century, after the agreement of October 12, 1898 resolved the relationship between using the evangelical church as a simultaneous church. It was then ceremonially inaugurated on September 17, 1900. The high altar, like the church, dedicated to St. Martinus, was transferred from the old church. It dates from 1726. Two bells hang in the tower, which were cast by the Otto brothers in Hemelingen in 1900.

The smaller bell is called St. Martin's bell, the large St. James' bell and both bear an inscription in Latin.
