Jenisch came from an old merchant family and was the eldest son of the merchant and senator Emanuel Jenisch and his wife Anna Margarethe Plessing. One of his ancestors was the merchant Zimbert Jenisch.

The angular one with the corresponding inscription is the Jenisch mausoleum, the one right next to it, also angular with the inscription "Momento mori" is the Höppfner and the almost dilapidated, round mausoleum is that of Baron von Schröder!
