The mausoleum is impressive - you could almost think you were standing on an open-air stage! It was built between 1899 and 1900.
Heinrich Freiherr von Ohlendorff, son of the first director of the Botanical Garden founded in 1820, was a merchant and shipowner who became rich through guano imports.
