The cemetery Ohlsdorf is the largest park cemetery in the world. With its approximately 400 hectares, it is also Hamburg's largest green area. 450 (!) Deciduous and coniferous species thrive here, the ponds and streams are alive with waterfowl.
There are 200,000 tombs on the site. Since its foundation in 1877, more than 1.4 million funerals have taken place.

The cemetery Ohlsdorf is a special resting place. A total of 1.4 million people have been buried in the cemetery in the north of the Hanseatic city. With a total area of 391 hectares, of which approximately 200 hectares are currently used for burials, the cemetery is also the largest park cemetery in Europe.
