In 1829, three students drowned in a ferry accident on their way back from Kunitzburg. The newly appointed pastor pushed through the construction of a bridge. An information board on the bridge tells the whole story. The pastor's restored gravestone stands in the Kunitz cemetery. What is also interesting is that one of the drowned students was a brother of the architect Gottfried Semper (Semper Opera). The latter designed the gravestone for the students in the old cemetery right next to the church in Golmsdorf. It still stands today, an early work by the famous architect.
