Hiking Highlight
A hiking trail that you wouldn't actually expect in the German low mountain ranges. Rather, alpine character prevails here. Narrow, stony paths that hug the rocks - fun to hike here!

Plenty of views and the paths a dream. You should only be sure-footed.

Very nice hike with many informative boards about the origin of the area as well as about flora and fauna. The hike had an extreme success factor for us - you quickly remember the Alps. In short, just great there!

On these trails you should look especially on the way and not too much in the area around. It is certainly painful when you go down the slope.

In spring there are a few individual orchids for nature lovers to admire right on the side of the path. I took it in bloom from mid-April to mid-May.

The SaaleHorizontale are 72 km of pure hiking pleasure.
The SaaleHorizontale runs along narrow paths through steep shell limestone slopes and offers spectacular views of the unmistakable landscape of the Middle Saale Valley.
Meadows alternate with lush green beech forests.
Light pine groves and the many open valley slopes always provide a clear view of small villages, castles and palaces and of course the traditional university town of Jena.

It is a nice hiking trail with a view over Jena

Always nice, whether spring - summer - autumn - winter

This highlight is unfortunately out of place and meaningless.
The Saalehorizontale itself is of course not - 72km of hiking pleasure from Jena to Dornburg and back on the other side of the Saaletal.
Probably one of the Kernberg horizons was actually meant.
