Here the way is the goal. You should be free from giddiness and sure-footed - especially the participants (!) On this tour, otherwise you have to turn around at the interesting places (exposed and partly with wire ropes insured) and avoid the "tricky" places. And that is a pity !!

A well-known and popular destination for hikers from Jena and the surrounding area is the Fürstenbrunnen. The Fürstenbrunnen is a spring area in the beautiful Pennickental at the foot of the Johannisberge.
This small spring area owes its name to history, which says that here in September 1552 the Saxon Elector Johann Friedrich I took a break on one of his popular hunting trips. The edging of the source that can be seen today goes back to Baron von Ziegenar, who had it made in this form in 1832 as the owner at that time.
Because of the shallow water in which children like to play, the picnic area and the shady location, the Fürstenbrunnen is a popular hiking destination - here you are rarely alone.
