One of the most beautiful cities I know. The renovation is organized by GIZ. Sibiu has been appointed as the cultural capital together with Luxembourg, since the Transylvanian Saxons have nothing to do with Saxony, but come from the upper Moselle region to Luxembourg. The decisive factor in the choice was the collection in the Brukenthal Museum, named after Samuel Brukenthal, the Habsburg governor of Empress Maria-Theresa, who was very committed to the cultural autonomy of the Transylvanian people.
