On a scale of 1:100 to the original Bruges Belfry is 83 m high and integrated into the town halls on the central market square of Bruges. Like these, it was built in the 13th century. In the late Middle Ages, the tower, which towered above all the city's buildings, demonstrated the power of the self-confident, wealthy bourgeoisie and served as a fire watch.
