The Basilica of Santa Maria del Mar, traditionally Santa Maria de la Mar, formerly Santa Maria de les Arenes, is a Catalan Gothic church in Barcelona, in the Ribera district and built between 1329 and 1383. The master builders were Berenguer de Montagut (the main designer of the building) and Ramon Despuig. As for the exterior, it is considered the only large, perfectly finished Catalan Gothic church, [1] although one of the bell towers was not finished until the 19th century.
