Uranus (Latinization of ancient Greek οὐρανός uranós, German 'sky') is the seventh planet in the solar system from the sun with an average solar distance of 2.9 billion kilometers and is counted among the ice giants. It was discovered by Wilhelm Herschel on March 13, 1781 and is named after the Greek god of the sky, Uranos. It is the only planet named after a god from the Greek world of gods.

Hiking
If the path from Saturn (True, see Saturn path) is still feasible for the inexperienced hiker, the path from Uranus has other requirements. Due to the route along existing hiking trails, it is about 30 kilometers from the Old Elster Bridge opposite the Sparkasse Vogtland in the center of Plauen to the Rodewisch Observatory.
