The building at Johanniskirchhof 6 was erected in 1522 as the Kurienhof of the Johannisstift.
The curial courtyards were created after the dissolution of the cathedral monastery.
The central building was the residence of a clergyman.

The ground floor in solid brick construction consisted of an entrance hall with a kitchen and a hall-like living room.

The half-timbered upper floors could have served as storage, but also as a ballroom.

In the 17th century the building passed into private ownership.

Around 1800 the house was redivided inside. Both floors were given a longitudinal corridor, with rooms adjoining to the right and left on both sides.

The attic has not been developed because there is still an old elevator there.

At the beginning of the 1970s there were serious plans to demolish all the old buildings on the Johanniskirchhof.
State subsidies for the renovation of old buildings have made the city rethink.

For a long time, this building housed the municipal music school.
