Built in 1900 and no longer usable as an observation tower. The figures and images carved into the sandstone base are curious.
Just below the tower is the remains of a quarry stone vault. The stair steps to the tower are not up to the normal norm. The step height is significantly greater. Try it; definitely worth exploring. Even if the bridge from there over one of the fortification ditches is long gone and the tower is in a dead end.

The 12.6m high Bismarck Tower is enthroned on the so-called St. Peter Rock on the Schlossberg above the city. The square tower is one of a series of towers built in honor of the first German Chancellor, Otto Fürst von Bismarck. The square floor plan is 5.8m × 5.8m. On the side facing the city there is a relief of the imperial eagle and Bismarck's family coat of arms. On the opposite side there is an entrance and above it a plaque with an inscription and two coats of arms.
