It is a cave in which a basin is clearly distinguishable among the ruins. Apparently this was the "monks' sauna". The cave then became the refuge of the brigand Matteo Salese of whom it is said that, seeing himself surrounded by soldiers, he preferred to jump into the void rather than be arrested (probably ending up sentenced to death).

To reach the "Sauna dei Monaci" it is necessary to wear trekking clothing and sturdy shoes.
