Thirlmere is a quiet picturesque location off the beaten track. From this car park there are lovely walks along the shore of the lake. Even if you just drive along this side of the lake you are bound to get some fantastic views.

Please note that this is a reservoir for the drinking water of Manchester so swimming is not allowed. Canoes and kayaks are permitted but permission needs to be acquired from United Utilities (The waterboard that controls the reservoir) beforehand.
