The neo-Gothic parish church of St. Dionysius was built in 1893 by the Neuss government architect Julius Busch on the site of a previous Romanesque building. When the old church was demolished, several Roman altar and consecration stones were found under the high altar, which are in the Rheinisches Landesmuseum in Bonn.

The most valuable pieces of equipment in the church are the impressive, baroque crucifixion group by Jeremias Geisselbrunn from the abolished St. Pantaleon Abbey in Cologne on the back wall of the choir and a Pietà in the west apse, both from the 17th century.

The church has a main organ and a choir organ. The main organ is an instrument from Johannes Klais Orgelbau from 1962. It has 23 registers on two manuals and a pedal. Another, smaller organ, which is used as a choir organ, is in the front right part of the church. It is mainly used at school services, baptisms and for choir accompaniment and comes from the Auditorium Maximum at the University of Bochum. It has six registers on a manual with an attached pedal and an additional cymbal star as an effect register.

There are several older grave crosses from the Baroque period in the old churchyard by the church. Also worth noting are the old war memorial from 1874, the gravesites of the former mayor of Hürth, Heinrich Felten, and the founder of the Hürth socialist workers' movement, Matthias Schnitzler, as well as a memorial stone with a Cyrillic inscription in memory of the Soviet prisoners of war and forced laborers murdered during National Socialism.

There is a Friedrich Ebert monument on the corner of Bachemer and Friedensstrasse on the edge of the cemetery. The monument erected in 1928 by the Gleuel SPD in memory of the first Reich President was destroyed by the National Socialists in 1933 and rebuilt in a new form by the community of Hürth in 1951.
