The Otto Maigler Lake is located south of the city of Cologne in the city of Hürth. The lake was created as part of a reclamation measure by inflowing groundwater in an open pit mine hole. Especially because of its cleanliness, the fine sandy beach, the lake is popular in the entire region. As an official bathing lake, the quality of the water in the bathing season is checked by official bodies for compliance with the regulations governing bathing water.
