The Bremerhaven–Nordenham Weser Ferry is a ferry service connecting the independent city of Bremerhaven with the Blexen district of Nordenham in the Wesermarsch district at the mouth of the Weser River. The route is operated by the Bremerhaven and Nordenham ferries. The ferries transport passengers and vehicles; both vessels have a capacity of 300 passengers and approximately 150 meters of vehicle length. The ferry dock in Nordenham is located in the Blexen district; in Bremerhaven, the ferries dock at the mouth of the Geeste River at the Alter Vorhafen (Old Outer Harbor). At the docks, single-lane ramps for vehicles and two-lane ramps for pedestrians are used to compensate for the difference between the ferry (which varies due to the tide) and street level. The journey time is approximately twelve minutes. Monday to Friday, the ferries depart every 30 minutes from 5 a.m. in the morning, every 20 minutes during the day, and every hour in the evening on each side of the Weser. On Sundays, the service runs every 40 minutes. In summer, the ferries run on Saturdays according to the weekday schedule, and in spring, autumn, and winter, they run according to the Sunday schedule.
