Those who have climbed the steep ascent to the Hungerberg and the approx. 90 steps to the viewing platform will be rewarded with a great view. At the same time, the tower keeps the memory of station No. 30 of the optical telegraph line built there 175 years ago. The tower stands in the immediate vicinity of the former station, which was demolished in 1850, and on whose foundation the Hungerberg Chapel stands today.
