12/22/2022 - The museum is interesting if you have a connection to Freud. Much has been written about how the Freud family lived back then. However, there are only a few original pieces. Photos from that time can also be seen in his treatment rooms. The Vienna Museum is a must for all Freud fans.

12/22/2022 - Vienna's most famous address has reopened in 2020 after 18 months of renovation and conversion phase. Sigmund Freud's living and creative spaces are on display in the newly renovated museum. This new approach allows us to rediscover the founding father of psychoanalysis. We are certain that Freud would have enjoyed it.

Berggasse 19, Vienna, Alsergrund. Whoever follows in the footsteps of Sigmund Freud comes here – to the place of origin of psychoanalysis. And just like his patients did over 100 years ago, you still stand at the door and ring the doorbell of the world-famous professor. As soon as you enter, it becomes clear: the Sigmund Freud Museum is no ordinary memorial. It is a place that preserves the spirit of Freud to this day. But it also serves as a memorial to the loss of culture and humanity under the Nazi regime of terror.

12/22/2022 - For almost half a century, from 1891 to 1938, Sigmund Freud lived and worked in this classic tenement house from the Viennese early days. During these years, the family repeatedly moved into different floors. It was here that he created his major works ("The Interpretation of Dreams", "On Psychoanalysis", "The I and the It" and many more). It was here that his famous Psychological Wednesday Society (the first psychoanalytic study group) took place in the waiting room of his surgery. Berggasse 19 is and remains Sigmund Freud's home and legacy. After the annexation of Austria to Nazi Germany, Freud had to flee in June 1938 and spent the last year of his life in London. Marked by his severe cancer, with the help of a doctor friend, he ended his own life with an overdose of morphine. Freud was 83 years old.
