At the exit to Wahlsdorf, not far from the Petkus radio tower, the Friedensmühle Petkus, built in 1835 as a post mill, is clearly visible. The name Friedensmühle was coined by local poet Richard Conrad in a newspaper article after the Second World War. In the 1950s, the post mill was converted into a Paltrock mill with a wind rose and louvre blades. This conversion made it possible to enlarge the mill and accommodate more grinding mechanisms. After extensive restoration work in the early 1990s, the mill is fully functional again.
