The church was built in the middle of the 13th century, initially with a nave, choir and apse. 300 years later, the church tower was added to a complete system. In the 18th century the windows in the nave and choir were enlarged "baroque". The tower received a west portal and the east wall of the choir was changed after the apse was demolished. The north wall of the nave had to be stabilized with a buttress. At the same time, the structure in the east of the southern side of the ship received a patron's box with a crypt underneath. During the Second World War, the windows of the church were badly damaged by several bombs. In 1967 the buttresses gave way. In 1970 the parish had the walls of the church removed to 2.50 m, the tower was shortened by 8 m and the ruins were left to decay. A support association was founded in 2007 and has been committed to the preservation of the building since then. The exposed part in the nave was covered with a barrel roof with light band, the tower was renovated. There is an exhibition on the eventful history of the building.
