    Tips

The main protagonist of the path is the forest itself - its simple beauty and its soothing - empowering sensuality. Its starting point is almost exactly halfway between the Thiemsburg National Park Center and the treetop path. For example, it is a good idea to enjoy the view of the forest from the normal perspective before or after visiting the treetop path.
The barrier-free design of the promenade guarantees a comfortable and stress-free tour (1.2 km). The trail is a combination of water-bound gravel sections and boardwalks. At the same time, differences in height are gently bridged and a particularly attractive approach to the forest is made possible.

Entrance to the forest promenade. Very nicely designed. I can only recommend going in there.

Here you can experience the beech forest in a completely different way. "Enjoy with all senses!" is the motto of this hiking trail. From time to time you have to change perspective and various elements along the way invite you to do so. Be sure to try it!

This circular route is this, my hike today. It was supposed to be a different hike, but due to an unfortunate loss of time I decided to do this hike and were pleasantly surprised by the variety of impressions.

The forest promenade is barrier-free and suitable for both young and old. The car park on the treetop path is the only one in the national park that costs 4 euros. The Thiemsburg restaurant, a snack bar, a large adventure playground for kids, the treetop path with root cave and an exhibition on the national park await you. There are free toilets and various information boards.
Tip: if you want to go on the treetop path, even in the best weather and in the season, the off-peak times, right when it opens and even better two hours before it closes, are ideal. It's not just there to look at the trees and because of the great view, but also an adventure playground for everyone. Try out all the elements. Every Wednesday + Saturday from April to October there is a 1.5 hour circular hike over 4 km with the ranger. You can get lots of brochures and tips about the hiking trails from the rangers at the information center.
Greetings Janice, ranger in Hainich 😊

The forest promenade path is signposted as wheelchair accessible due to the slight incline and the gates are each equipped with ropes so that they can be pulled open.

A charming path that's easy and comfortable to walk. This pleasant access not only opens the door, but also opens the door to nature.

A very easy circular walk (1.2 km), particularly suitable for children. The trail is a combination of water-bound gravel sections and wooden walkways. This gently bridges elevation differences and provides a particularly charming approach to the forest. Initially, on its southern, first half, the trail runs alongside the Thiemsburg Nature Trail. Along the second half of the trail, there are eleven themed islands that encourage conscious forest enjoyment.
