It's great here, and since it's unsuitable for dogs, there are even lockable dog huts with water pots. So Struppi falls the wait quite easily.

Magnificent overview of the observation tower over the forests and mountains. Great feeling when you are above on a secure foot over the treetops.

Everything is different up here. The sound of the birdsong more powerful. Air and light pure. The leaves more delicate, the sky closer. The treetop path in the Hainich National Park leads through the foliage of stately deciduous trees right up to the tree tops. Carefully, the wooden path reveals the secret of the otherwise inaccessible tree giants.
The treetop trail meanders 530 meters from the lower crown to the tops of the jungle treetops.

Rate from a guide! There is too much talk and the enjoyment of nature with the magnificent bird concert is lost. For information enough panels are appropriate.

Definitely choose a quiet time. WE definitely avoid it. Better to come in the afternoon, when busloads are through.

For parking 1 euro fee (keep in small change, is thrown for exit in vending machine)

The path runs through an old natural and pristine beautiful forest (is called primeval forest, pure deciduous forest) The branches are partly hanging at head height above the path, because you can look at the leaves and seeds closely. Gorgeous old grape beech and maple trees. If you love nature, this is ideal for you. You are very close to the birds who are holding a loud concert here. Absolutely avoid the weekend. I strongly recommend that you arrive at 2 pm so that the flow of visitors drops significantly.

You can walk around a path in the middle of the trees. For my feeling but rather unspectacular and without much eye view. The entrance fee of 9 euros is really expensive!

Here you can get a lot of information about the Hainich National Park. Two exhibitions can also be admired here. Are included in the price for the treetop path.

In front of the tree crown trail, it is beautifully explained how old and how tall the largest trees on earth can become. Impressive is the 7m diameter on the foot.

Ideal starting point for hikes. There is not only the treetop path. Various hiking routes are available. Everything is well signposted. At the treetop path there is also an elevator available, for which you do not feel confident going up the stairs.
