Ribe's Old Town Hall was built before 1496. From 1708, it served as the town hall, where city council meetings were held until 2007. In the old town hall and the corridors hang a collection of portraits of feudal and magistrates from the 17th to the 20th century.
The former debtors' prison now houses a museum about law and justice in Ribe. It tells the story of town halls, city gates, and trade. Here, you can see city seals, standard measures, drinking cups, the law book, morning stars, executioner's sword, thumbscrews, and much more.
