Ribe's Old Town Hall was built before 1496. From 1708, it served as the town hall, where council meetings were held until 2007. A collection of portraits of the town councilors and magistrates from the 17th to the 20th centuries hangs in the old council chamber and corridors.

The former debtors' prison now houses a museum about law and justice in Ribe. It tells the story of town halls, city gates, and trade. Visitors can see town seals, standard measures, drinking cups, a law book, morning stars, an executioner's sword, thumbscrews, and much more.
