The Karl May Trail is a linear hiking trail between Moritzburg and Radebeul.
If you only want to travel one leg of the journey using the Lößnitzgrundbahn railway, which also runs between Radebeul and Moritzburg, it's a great option to cover the other leg via the Karl May Trail. It's well-suited for this purpose (covering a lot of ground). However, for a "real" hiking trail, the proportion of asphalt is quite high. Besides some truly beautiful sections (including the Lößnitzgrund valley), there are also some rather "tough" stretches...

Former inn Buchholz.
Around 1770, a small group of houses was built in Buchholz, which was also named "Buchholz" after the wooded area. It was a forester's house and two winegrower's cottages. In 1774, the then forest warden Rarisch and his hunting friends planted a linden tree at the forester's lodge, which is still growing today. In 1830, the Buchholz inn grew out of the forester's lodge.
