The Lößnitzgrund is a valley floor up to 50 meters deep, carved by the Lößnitzbach stream, a right-bank tributary of the Elbe River. The narrow-gauge Lößnitzgrundbahn railway runs through the valley, covering approximately 16 kilometers between Radebeul Ost and Radeburg.
