In 1775, Alexei Grigoryevich Orlov, celebrated throughout Europe as a hero, who had defeated the Ottoman fleet in the naval battle of Çeşme, met Electress Amalie Auguste during a stay in the Electorate of Saxony. His eunuch Camillo Marcolini then arranged for a replica of a warship to be built at the large pond near Bärnsdorf, and the Elector has since pushed ahead with the reconstruction of an entire coastal landscape in order to be able to recreate the Battle of Çeşme. A port facility was created, a pier, the Moritzburg lighthouse, artificial islands, a canal, bridge pillars and bastion-like curves with loopholes that imitated the Dardanelles. Sea battles were re-enacted at the large pond, with residents from surrounding villages serving as extras. The last courtly sailing party on the large pond took place in 1791.

Very well-preserved and renovated walls, some of which are very graphically successful on the side of the path.
