After the completion of the apartment blocks in 1981, a fountain was built on this square. It was called the Rose Fountain. The square was named after Max Seydewitz. The Rose Fountain remained in use until the early 1990s. Then it fell out of favor with the residents and was removed. Because the fountain resembled a cabbage rather than a rose, it was also popularly known as the "Kahlkopf" (Cabbage Head). No water trickled from the rose, but only from the basin below. The rose now stands at the center of the roundabout on Spremberger Straße. On Max-Seydewitz-Platz, a large granite sphere stands at the site of the fountain, rotating in a bed of water. A beautiful design idea. Source: Märkischer Bote, March 24, 2012

On Max-Seydewitz-Platz there is a fountain with a two-ton granite ball that rotates in the shine of the sun thanks to the power of the water alone.

The "Kohlkopf" (cabbage head) of Forst once stood there.
