Likewise, the vineyard altar by Lucas Cranach the Younger, as an impressive testimony to the history of the Reformation, represents a significant image beyond the borders of the Altmark.

A large number of exhibits provide insights into the everyday life of the past in 16 exhibition areas. Historical furniture, weapons, old guild craft, masterpieces of church art and other things testify to the craftsmanship of Altmark craftsmen and artists.

Danneil Museum Salzwedel visitors can also explore the history of the Salzwedeler Baumkuchen. Traditionally significant is the collection of archaeological finds dating back to Johann Friedrich Danneil.
