In September 1979 the 144-year-old post mill was moved from Remlingen to Braunschweig on the Lünischhöhe - a hill very close to the monastery. The citizens of Riddagshausen took over the maintenance of the post mill "Victoria Luise", named after the last Brunswick Duchess.

In contrast to the well-known Dutch windmills, in a post windmill the mill house is turned on the "Bock" with the codend into the wind. At the Dutch windmill only the "hood" (the head) turns.

The post mill is looked after by Müller Werner Goldmann. He guides visitors through the mill, explains how it works and tells exciting stories about the exhibits on display. In addition to guided tours, Werner Goldmann also organizes reading evenings.
