The viewing platform in Prinz-Albrecht-Park sits atop the 93-meter-high Nußberg hill. It is the remaining vestige of an observation bunker built in 1943, which was once connected underground to the district command post and the police station. The hill itself consists primarily of oolitic sandstone (Buntsandstein). This material, which was also used as a building material, can be found in many buildings in Braunschweig. Today, a short footpath leads to the platform, which is accessible at all times. From there, a beautiful view opens up over the park and the city beyond – an ideal spot to watch sunsets.

You have a beautiful view of the park and over the trees you have a beautiful view of Braunschweig's churches.

    Hiking

The Nußberg towers over the city by about 20 meters. At the highest point, visitors to the park can see the city on a viewing platform built on a former WWII bunker.
