The approximately one hectare Lünisch pond in the eastern part of the city of Braunschweig was created as a fish pond by monks from the Riddagshausen monastery.
From 1924 until the 1960s it served as a bathing establishment.
Today it is part of a green area between Prinz-Albrecht-Park and Riddagshausen.(Source: Wikipedia)
