The viaduct runs through the factory premises of the former company Membrana, today 3M, at the level of Rauental or Lenneper Strasse / Bockmühle (hence the name Viadukt Bockmühle). Until 2014, the so-called solution house stood on one side of Wuppertal and copper recovery on the viaduct side. Due to the contaminated sites, the buildings had to be demolished in 2014 and the soil removed to a depth of 2.5 m. Today it is vacant area, but this gives you a clear view of the viaduct. The viaduct itself was built in 1890 and spans the Wupper with 8 arches made of bricks. The ninth arch that spans the Wupper was designed as a steel structure. The route runs from Wuppertal-Langerfeld to Remscheid-Lennep and Solingen.
