The Rats Waage is certainly one of the most beautiful buildings in the old town.
It was built in 1550 as part of the reconstruction after the city fire.
She later served as a municipal weighbridge and as a hus for high citers.
In 1969 it was badly damaged by a fire and had to be rebuilt behind the historic façade.
Today the house houses an inn and apartments.

Built in the middle of the 16th century in Osterode, this house not only served as a place to weigh, as the name and the wooden beam on the wall of the house suggest. The post office was also used here and the rooms were used as a "wedding house".
