At the Rammelsbacher Kopf lies Germany's former largest hard stone quarry, known for the mining of the rare kuselite (microdiorite). For over 136 years, hard stone was mined here since 1868, and was used, among other things, as paving stones on the Place de la Concorde in Paris. Today, the Rammelsbach Quarry Museum tells the story of this important industrial site.
