It is the largest fireboat used in the port of Hamburg to date.
The ship is named after Johannes Westphal, who was given the leadership of the Hamburg professional fire brigade by the British military government in August 1945.[
The fireboat is available to the Hamburg fire brigade, which also provides the crew. The ship is kept ready for use at all times.
It can also be used for inspection trips and other tasks.
