On the site of the church ruin was once the village Pirkenreuth with its small chapel. During the Hussite Wars, the village was destroyed in 1430. Many years later the church was rebuilt, but at the end of the 16th century it was abandoned and demolished. Today, all you can find is the foundations on which you can easily see the dimensions of the original Kircher.

Mountain biking

The village of Pirkenreuth was first mentioned in 1366 and completely wiped out on February 9, 1430 during the Hussite Wars. The chapel was rebuilt around 1500, but was later dismantled except for a few remnants by order of the Calvinist government of the Upper Palatinate. In 1920 the ruins of the Pirkenreuther Chapel were uncovered, which now invites you to reflect in the middle of the forest.
