Hiking Highlight

Location: Lavizzara, Ticino, Switzerland
The village is at the same height as Brontallo and, like this one, is built on a terrace, but much greener and less steep. Despite the good sunshine, viticulture is no longer possible here, but in the past chestnut growing and arable farming were important. Menzonio's inhabitants emigrated frequently over the centuries, particularly to Rome, where they worked as stable boys in the cardinals' stables. In the village, it is worth visiting the parish church dedicated to Saints James and Philip and the Oratory of Our Lady of the Assumption, which features a great work by Gianfredo Camesi, an internationally known local artist.

For me it's more of a "minus highlight". A wretched and inhospitable hole in the soup of mist. The highlight here is the bus stop.
