The Iron Bridge built in 1791 over the George Canal was the first cast iron bridge in Germany and the entire European mainland. The cast individual parts are riveted together. As a pedestrian bridge, it is a 1: 4 scale replica of the Iron Bridge in England (near Coalbrookdale) from 1779, the first cast iron bridge in the world.
