The exhibition shows how far Judaism was in this region in the 18th and 19th centuries. Century was accepted and respected. We also learn more about Moses Mendelssohn, the great philosopher of the Enlightenment, who was born and grew up in Dessau. Mendelssohn is an important friend of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing; Lessing's work "Nathan the Wise" resulted from this friendship and Mendelssohn was the real person behind Nathan.
In addition, one is informed about the expulsion, deportation and murder of the Jews. Well done little exhibit.

On a small hill at the end of the Amtsgasse, Prince Franz had a synagogue built for the Jewish population of Wörlitz and Oranienbaum from 1787–90. The model of the round temple designed by Erdmannsdorff is in Rome on the Tiber. Recent research has shown that the Hercules Viktor Temple ... served as a model. Prince Franz, who had the synagogue built not far from the Christian church, was of the opinion that both religions were justified. Everyone should be able to choose for themselves which faith they want to pursue. He only wanted superstition to be fought. The prince's attitude of mind is also reflected in the inscription on the cemetery in Gröna near Bernburg: "Whether Jew, Pagan or Christian, in death we are all the same, so be and stay human".

A testimony to the understanding and ability to recognize that multiple worldviews can (should) coexist peacefully.
