The exhibition shows how far Judaism was in this region in the 18th and 19th centuries. Century was accepted and respected. We also learn more about Moses Mendelssohn, the great philosopher of the Enlightenment, who was born and grew up in Dessau. Mendelssohn is an important friend of Gotthold Ephraim Lessing; Lessing's work "Nathan the Wise" resulted from this friendship and Mendelssohn was the real person behind Nathan.
In addition, one is informed about the expulsion, deportation and murder of the Jews. Well done little exhibit.
