In Denmark, too, many places and cities have built their houses in a very special way in order to consolidate a uniform cityscape. This is what happened in Aabenraa and, especially in the streets Slotsgarde, Nygade and Store Pottergarde, there are still whole trains of well-restored townhouses and craftsmen's houses from the 18th century. Typical of these houses is the one-story construction and the triangular gable, which always faces the street.

Often these buildings also have bay windows at ground level, through which it was possible to watch the craftsmen at work in the past. The two-story long houses with their dormer windows and the often ornate portals, which have been worked out with great attention to detail, are also interesting. And since every resident was already very proud of the home they had built, the date of construction and the names of the residents can be found on most of the houses.
