Better than their reputation: the Taunusanlage is one of the largest sections of the Frankfurt Wallanlagenring. North of the small Gallusanlage, it extends from the Taunus Gate between the street also named Taunusanlage and the Neue Mainzer Straße to the Alte Oper, right through the heart of "Bankfurt". For cyclists and pedestrians who can do without multi-lane motorways, actually the only north-south connection in this area of the city.

Mountain biking

The Taunusanlage stretches from the Taunustor to the Alte Oper with hilly meadows and a multitude of monuments and works of art. Right behind the Schiller monument by Johannes Dielmann, a green oasis with lawns and large deciduous trees, horticultural accents, steps and benches and the remains of old ramparts opens up at the Taunustor. On a hill, the former bastion point, Georg Kolbe's monument rises in honor of Beethoven. Not far from there is Kolbe's Heine monument.
