Hiking
This path is called the Goed Ter Meerschpad. The name refers to a walled upper and lower courtyard that must have stood here as early as the Middle Ages (12th century) and (according to legend) was a residence of the Templars. In the 14th century, it belonged to the Van der Meersch family; hence the name.
No visible remains of the old courtyard can be found in the current buildings on the site (between this path and Landegemstraat).

Hiking
The path is largely paved with concrete slabs and is "accessible only to walkers and wheelchair users," but the slabs have been pushed up in places by tree roots. While the damage has been announced with signs and some asphalt has been filled in, the path still doesn't seem easily accessible for a wheelchair (at least not for anyone who might want to try it with an electric wheelchair).
