The Bride of the Wind is a female bronze sculpture by the Wilhelmshaven artist Hartmut Wiesner at Nassau Harbor, which the Wilhelmshaven Savings Bank donated to the city of Wilhelmshaven in 1994 to mark its 125th anniversary. The sculpture was cast in the foundry of Raimund Kittl's Düsseldorf Art Academy. The life-size Bride of the Wind is nude, with only her long hair covering parts of her body. She gazes across the water toward the entrance to Nassau Harbor and is meant to greet incoming sailors. According to the artist, the Bride of the Wind is meant to be a symbol of Wilhelmshaven's cosmopolitanism.Source: uwe-karwath.de
