The state parliament building - which has only been used as such since the 1990s - combines four authentically restored buildings under its mansard roof.
House number 7 was built by Gerhard Cornelius von Walrave in 1724/25 for the wine merchant Winneberg. Walrave was a fortress engineer in the Prussian service and played a key role in the Magdeburg fortress. He also created the neighboring house and house number 9. The latter for himself, and probably for this reason with such a strikingly beautiful balcony and portal.
