The tree, which comes from China, was planted in the riverside garden in 1952 as a 70 centimetre tall tree. Some specimens of the giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum) are particularly huge. The seeds of these trees came from California in 1853, and in 1864 Frederick I had numerous trees planted on Mainau. These giant trees are simply amazing to look at 🤩🤩🤩
