The Wildeck Castle, also called Wildeck Castle, is a castle in Abstatt in the district of Heilbronn in Baden-Württemberg. The castle was probably built in the high Middle Ages by the lords of Heinriet and came in 1492 to Ludwig, progenitor of the third line of the Counts of Löwenstein, who operated there verifiably in the 16th century viticulture. In 1933, the castle came with surrounding vineyards to the Württemberg state. Since 1940, in the castle, which has been rebuilt several times, there is an experimental estate of the Weinbauschule in Weinsberg, which bred the varieties Samtrot and Dornfelder there.

Hiking

The castle is very easy to reach from Abstatt, Helfenberg, Unterheinriet and Untergruppenbach.
From the hill you have a great view of the surrounding landscape. The castle can be visited (note opening times). If you are up there you shouldn't shy away from the path to the Helfenberg castle ruins. Very nice route, interesting ruin, very suitable for photo shoots.
