The Herz-Jesu-Kirche at the foot of the Genovevaburg is big and mighty. The construction time is hard to believe: the foundation stone was laid on June 12, 1911, completion after only 13 months of construction on July 13, 1912. The impressive building is characterized by the 5 towers, of which the two bell towers with a height of 43 m can be seen from afar.
During the Second World War in 1945, the neo-Romanesque church was destroyed and rebuilt by 1952. The destroyed interior was largely redesigned.
In the years 1995 and 2001 the roof, the facade and the interior were renovated. The altar has been given more prominence and new windows by award-winning artist Jakob Schwarzkopf (1926-2001) replace the plain post-war windows.
The two bell towers are very impressive with a height of 43 meters and can be seen from afar. A total of five towers characterize the appearance of the Herz-Jesu Church.

One has a particularly beautiful view of the Herz-Jesu-Kirche from the Genovevaburg.
